Excerpt from Proceedings of the Forty-Fifth Annual Convention of the Ontario Educational Association: Held in Toronto on the 17th, 18th and 19th April, 1906 The Association met in the West Hall of the University of Toronto at 8 p.m., the President, John Ball Dow, LL.B., in the chair. Rev. I Lovell, D.D., opened the meeting by reading a portion of Scripture and by leading in prayer. Moved by Mr.Wm. Scoot, seconded by Mr. S. McAllister, that the Minutes of the last meeting having been printed and distributed they be taken as read, and that they be now confirmed. Carried. Communications were read from: 1. Mr. W. H. Johnston, of Kippen, Ont., containing copies of resolutions passed by the West Huron Teachers´ Institute. This letter was referred to the Committee in charge of the resolutions to be discussed on Monday afternoon. 2. Mr. Frank Cornell, asking that the Ontario Educational Association take some steps to mark their appreciation of Mr. Alexander Muir, author of "The Maple Leaf Forever." This letter was referred to the new Board of Director. President Dow addressed the Association on: The Educational Outlook. (Page 78.) Hon. R. A. Pyne, Minister of Education, addressed the Association in some of the leading educational questions of the day and explained the chief features of the new School Bills. (Page 88.)
