I called attention to this regrettable state in many of my publications, more particularly in La Réforme des Asiles d´Aliénés, in which I advocated greater facilities to be granted for the early admission of curable patients, for the appointment of expert alienists on the medical staff, for the establishment of pathological laboratories, and the appointment of an adequate number of educated and properly trained nurses.
