Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Over 100 Ways to Work One´s Way Through College 1. Young people owe it to themselves and to society to acquire the best education within their reach and should be encouraged to make every reasonable effort to obtain it. They should be urged to earn an education if no other way is open to them. Instead of discouraging ambitious young people from working their way through college, as a few prominent educators do, all worthy young men and women should be encouraged to make the effort and advised how best to succeed. 2. The majority of the young men and women who enter college and graduate begin their college work before they reach their twenty-fifth year. It is the exception that one enters college after reaching the age of twenty-five and remains in school long enough to complete the usual collegiate course. At that age one is apt to feel that it is too late to begin a college course, or he has become so absorbed in something else that he has lost interest in a college education. 3. Usually young men and women have a limited earning capacity before they reach the age of twenty-four or twenty-five years. This is especially true if they have not had training along some special line. If then young men and women, who are without means and usually without great earning capacity, follow the advice of some educators and decide to remain out of school until they have earned enough to enable them to pay their entire expenses while in college, they find themselves unable to do so before passing the age limit after which young people rarely enter school.
