I had just this one qualification, that entering after many years passed in other pursuits, I at once grasped a certain continuity of Middle Temple life with old Cambridge days, and was able to realize to some extent college times over again. A regular attendant at hall and church, many points there-fore presented themselves to me as having a special interconnection and mutual self-dependence, which I have attempted to bring out in the following pages.
