To boys of to-day the memory of the Great War grows dim, tinged though it may be with sadness. They have almost forgotten, if they are old enough to appreciate, how abnormal were the conditions of England in the period from 1914 to 1918. The question will certainly be asked whether the stories are true. Some of the incidents recorded may be founded on fact; others may be purely imaginary. We will leave it at that.
