Excerpt from Manual of Unitarian Belief As Unitarians have no creed, and as their union Is one of sympathy and co-operation, and not of formulas, no one among them has any right to define the views of others. A Manual such as this is meant simply to express what, in the opinion of the writer, is the general belief of the majority of Unitarians. Every proposition contained in it is liable to discussion, correction, and revision. No one is bound by it; and it does not attempt to limit thought, but rather to stimulate and rouse inquiry. It is intended to be made the theme of discussion, and to help the teacher of the class in the Sunday-school, by furnishing, for himself and his pupils, topics for examination. To this end questions are added at the close of each Lesson, and references are given to passages of Scripture. The Questions on each Lesson have been prepared by Mrs. Kate Gannett Wells.
