As a result, many things of interest were found upon the decayed and much-worn, early records. We found too, that this town was the scene of many important incidents, in the history of our country, which have never been recorded on the pages of history; and that the few that have been noticed by historians, are mentioned in so vague and uncertain a light as to be of little use to the public.
