MacLean, correspondent of the Toronto Globe at Montreal, who spent many laborious hours in examining the files of the French papers in the Library of the Fraser Institute. He is likewise indebted to Mr. W. H. Dickson, The Globe´s resident correspondent at Ottawa, for similar useful and necessary work in the Library of Parliament. He has also to thank Mr. John A.
