Arrangements were made to reproduce the work in season for the holidays: but the second fire, at Rand, Avery, & Co.´s, swept away both sheets and plates; and expectations, like those of the wicked, were "cut off." The book at this time makes a fresh appeal, trusting that the interest has not abated, and that the present issue may be spared any more fiery trial than the kind stricture of friends, or the honest opinions of critics.
