Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Dante as a Jurist The germ of this little work appeared in an article in the ´Law Magazine and Review´ for February, 1897. Since then the writer has studied the subject more thoroughly, and the present essay is the result. Its size is perhaps hardly commensurate with the labour bestowed on its compilation. Most authorities are named, but not all. It would be useless to cite, unless in exceptional cases, the works of Dr. Moore and Dr. Toynbee and the concordance of Messrs. Sheldon and White, as they have been used continually, and are of course indispensable to every English student of Dante. Latin and Italian names have been used perhaps somewhat indiscriminately, but it was found difficult to be consistent. For instance, few would recognise Bartolus under his Italian name or Cino under his Latin one. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
