Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from The Diseases of the Chest Including the Principal Affections of the Pleurae Lungs, Pericardium, Heart, and Aorta In the present volume an attempt has been made to set out in a systematic and concise form the principal diseases of the chest. The book is primarily intended for the use of students, but the Author hopes that it may be not without value to practitioners and others who may desire to recall to memory the chief known facts about the various diseases of the thoracic viscera. In order to carry out the primary intention of the work, and to keep it from becoming too large for its purpose, every effort has been made to put the facts shortly and in tabular form, as well as to omit controversial matter and descriptions of diseases which are, although interesting and instructive to specialists, chiefly to be looked upon as clinical curiosities. For the same reasons the names of, and quotations from, authorities have been for the most part left out. The Author, however, takes this opportunity of acknowledging his indebtedness to the standard writers on chest diseases, many of whose books have been freely consulted. Objection may possibly be taken to the amount of space devoted to the description of the normal chest. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
