"Veil must iv>t complain, for as usual, he has been on some mission of charity, praying with and consoling the afflicted. spreading peace everywhere. I should he a truly happy woman, for no better man exists than I´arson Webb." (Enter from glass doors in tint. Parson Webb. followed by Robert Darrell) Mrs. Wtuit (advances toward I´arson.) "Oh. Edwin. I am so glad you have come, for I´ve waited tea for you for over an hour. I-1 beg your pardon. 1 did not perceive you had company." (She bows to Darrell, who removes his hat and hows stiffly.) Parson Wei*.It. Affectionately taking his wife´s hand. "This gentleman has a little business with me. Ida dear. I will be with you in a few minutes." .Mrs. WKim. "Certainly Edwin, but I hope you will mu be long." (aside) " My heart feels heavy. I have a presentiment of coming evil. I do not like that man. ´ (Walks towards door K. E. Turns round, bows to both, who return it. and exit Mrs. Webb.) (Webb meanwhile hands Darrell arm-chair, and sits down in the other one. Darrell does not seat himself, but stands leaning on back of chair, idly drumming on same, carelessly says:) "Mrs. Webb is a charming woman. You have been married about five months. I believe?"
