I (hall draw from it the only argument I think necessary to prove, that it is from your integrity and abilities alone, we can hope to fee effected what yet remains undone, to make the natives of this country the happiest people under the fun, and the possession of these provinces the brightest gem in the British crown. Convinced that the extraordinary pains taken by your enemies, to accumulate false and unsupported charges against you, by every unjustifiable means, in the hope thereby to overwhelm you in the opinion of the English nation, will be seen through and despised, I have not a doubt of you triumphing over them from the justice of your cause. Yet should I be mistaken, and the superior ministerial interest, so much boasted of by themselves and agents, should prevail for the present, you must, and will, in the end, be consulted, and advised with, by your Prince and fellow subjects, in order to bring to perfection the great work you have begun.
