Produktbeschreibung

Excerpt from Living by Natural Law: An Outline of a Real Synthetic Philosophy Founded Upon the Prime Factors of the Universe and the Seven Sense Organisms of Human Body The problem of human life may be resolved into two sciences: If we look clearly and broadly into the last and most wonderful century of human progress, we are astonished, both by its progress and by its lack of progress; and if we analyze these results, we find that the progress is nearly all confined to the science of "Getting a Living," while the immeasurably finer science, that of "Living," itself has strangely dragged behind. This assertion is apparently contradicted by many discoveries of science for relieving and palliating human suffering and misery, for softening human cruelty, for moderating injustice, and for crowding back the many phases of superstition. But all these results are only the shallow margin of the problem; they are, in a way, but accidents; they do not make a man to feel that he knows the world, that he knows humanity, that he knows himself. The writer hereof believes that the time has come when the most free minded, the most courageous, the most progressive portion of the real thinkers of society are able and willing to grasp and exercise an exposition of the science of human living that shall have the illuminating power of a real synthetic philosophy.
