Excerpt from Dunsany the Dramatist At the time this study of Lord Dunsany´s work was being written, communication with Great Britain through the ordinary channels was so slow, and often so uncertain, as to be almost prohibitive for my purposes. Added to this, Lord Dunsany was with his regiment, and those to whom I should otherwise have written were so scattered that it was hardly feasible to get in touch with them. In this eventuality I fell back on the notes I had been making for several years on Dunsany´s work, and I was fortunate also in finding several members of the original Abbey Theater Company who were in America, as well as others who knew Dunsany professionally and personally.
