Excerpt from Work of Art Reproductions of Works of Art Scientific and Technical Drawings Photographic Works Print and Pictorial Illustrations, Vol. 5: January-June; 1951 Brief entries in the form of cross-references are included for renewal claimants, joint authors, and titles. In the sixth section Selected Books in Art and Photography are listed. These works are registered in Class A and appear also in Part 1A of the Catalog. They are arranged alphabetically under author and are books which consist largely or primarily of reproductions, books which list or describe photographs or works of art (including those devoted to the works of individual artists and photographers) and catalogs of exhibitions. Bibliographic Data. - Under the heading (name of author or copyright claimant) each main entry for current works includes, as applicable: 1) title; 2) other essential names associated with the work; 3) description of the pictorial content of the item; 4) publisher and place of publication when the publisher and claimant are different (if the address is given in the statement of copyright facts, the claimant and the publisher are the same); 5) a brief statement describing the physical nature of the material; and 6) series. For renewal entries, the main heading is the name of the author (artist, or employer in case of a work made for hire) with the exception of those for photographic works, which is the name of the renewal claimant. The heading is followed by the title of the work. Copyright Data. - For current works, the portion of the entry giving the facts of copyright registration begins with the copyright symbol ©. The symbol is followed by: 1) a brief description of the new matter on which copyright is claimed when such statement is made in the copyright application; 2) name of copyright claimant if it differs from the name in the heading (when the copyright symbol follows the name of the author in the heading, it indicates that the author and copyright claimant are the same); 3) for published works, date of publication as given in the application followed by an "in notice" statement if the copyright notice differs from the year date in the application; for unpublished works, the date on which the last of all of the items required to complete registration (i. e., each of the following: copy, application and fee) was received in the Copyright Office; 4) the copyright registration number. For renewals, the statement gives: 1) the original copyright date, 2) registration number, 3) the renewal registration number, 4) the date of the receipt of the renewal application, 5) the name of the renewal claimant, and 6) an abbreviation in parentheses representing the applicant´s statement of the basis of his renewal claim; e. g., John Doe (NK) indicates that renewal of copyright is claimed by John Doe as next of kin of the deceased author. Any information contained in the copyright application or in the copy of the work itself which relates to the registration of an earlier version of the work is given in brief form at the end of the entry. In the case of each entry the name of the copyright claimant is that given at the time of registration. Any information relating to subsequent changes of ownership recorded in the Copyright Office can be ascertained upon request and upon payment of the statutory search fee to the Register of Copyrights. Deposit of Copies. - In the case of every copyright entry listed in this part of the Catalog, except in the case of renewal copyrights, the deposit of copies (or copy) as required by sections 12, 13 or 215 of Title 17 of the United States Code has been made. Authority. - The Catalog of Copyright Entries is published by authority of sections 210 and 211 of Title 17 of the United States Code. Section 210 provides in part: "The current c
