So to shew their ardent Desires, they address themselves in pathetical Apostrophe´s to the Earth and Heavens, beseeching the one to send him down in a Cloud, or in a heavenly Dew; or the other, to open its fruitful Womb, that he may grow forth to save us; Rorate coeli desuper, & nubes pluant justum, aperiatur terra & germinet salvatorem.
