He is quite convinced from personal experience that, though children listen intently to a brief interesting sermon, they listen far more eagerly if an object be introduced or an experiment worked before their eyes. He has also found that, while the lambs of the flock are interested in object talks, the ears of the grown-up sheep pay even closer attention. The objects described, for the most part, can be found in every household. A few are easily purchased at small cost. None of them are too cumbersome for pulpit use. Concerning the experiments it is needless to add that all of them should be worked out carefully beforehand.
