He was full of faith in Crispi and his own paper as the official organ of the new order of things. "I will guarantee that in six weeks the X - will be the official organ," said the Editor, my friend. He had his audience - a short one - and then came my turn. What I had to say, beside the formal congratulation over the accession, was that my chief had ordered me to learn the Mediterranean policy of the new ministry in order that we might support it.
