He was a noted dog-runner and pigeon-flyer, the racecourse knew him well, and in gambling and drink he spent most of his hardly-earned wages as a coal-miner. Till his thirty-sixth year he lived without God, in a land of Bibles and Christian influences. Some few years after his conversion, he was led in the providence of God to join our Joyful News Mission, and to devote his life to telling forth the news of a Saviour´s love.
