Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from The Works of Leonard Woods, Vol. 2 of 5 The doctrine of Divine Providence is, that all things are sustained, directed and controlled by God. "Through him are all things." Correspondent with this is the teaching of the Assembly´s Catechism. "The works of God´s providence are his most holy, wise and powerful preserving and governing all his creatures and all their actions." The reality of God´s providence has been considered not only by Christian divines, but by heathen philosophers, as resulting from his attributes. If God is infinitely intelligent and powerful and good, he certainly will take care of the works of his hand. The same benevolence which prompted him to create the world, must prompt him to preserve and govern it. The same wisdom which contrived so wonderful and glorious a system, can and will direct and control it. And the same power which first brought all things into being, can with perfect ease and unfailing efficiency sustain and overrule them. To suppose that God would create such a world and such a universe, and then suffer it to fall into nonexistence, or neglect to take care of it, would be to suppose God destitute of immutable perfection.
