It is very imperfect, but perhaps it is better than nothing. I wish I could have inserted the sketch and estimate of my fathers character and work and worth given by the Secretary of the Conference at the funeral. I have only been able to indicate incidentally some of the features depicted by Mr. Hornabrook - my father´s nobility, dignity, simplicity, and humility, his family affections, his brotherly regard for colleagues, his faithful attachment to friends, and his love for children. His contributions to the literature of Methodism, and his attitude towards many Connexional movements, demand much more notice than has been given to them here.
