Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Military Sketching and Map Reading for Non-Coms;& Men Military Sketching and Map Heading are now, wisely, prominent features in the training of non-commissioned officers and men of both the Regular and Auxiliary Forces. That they have also become subjects of instruction in our Army Schools is further proof that the authorities recognize the immense utility of having, on active service, non-commissioned officers and men who can read a map accurately and can be trusted to turn out a sketch which will give an officer a fair idea of the ground it is intended to represent. This little work has been written with the idea of assisting non-commissioned officers and men to gain a better grasp of the details of these subjects, which company officers may not have time to dwell upon in the individual instruction of those under them. It is hoped that, if studied in conjunction with the lectures given by Company Officers or Army Schoolmasters, it may help to elucidate many points on which men, seeking for further information, may feel reluctant to importune their Instructors. My leading idea in compiling the little book, was to put in everything that a non-commissioned officer could possibly be expected to know about military sketching or map reading, and to arrange it all so simply, that a man with no previous knowledge of either subject could readily understand those things dealt with. Originality, save so far as methods of explanation are concerned, is obviously out of the question. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
