Therefore an anthology of verse purporting to be of Royal and Noble authorship may be allowed, at least, some claim to consideration. In such a work it is manifestly undesirable to attempt any discussion of vexed questions of authenticity; the pieces herein being accepted in good faith, like many others before and since, by those whose critical acumen is deserving of all respect.
