The lessons he learned in the simple and humble school of the forest were freighted with the grand and the good; everything about him was just as it came from the hands of the Creator, and was teeming with the good and the beautiful. It developed both the head and the heart, and produced the best type of manhood - both physical and mental. Here he learned lessons of patriotism and daring for the right.
