An idea of its importance is given by the fact that in the exhibition of the artist´s works, held at the rooms of the Burlington Fine Arts Club in 1879, no less than sixty-six of the one hundred and fifty-three drawings and etchings exhibited, were from this collection, and thirty-eight from that of Mr. Seymour Haden, the remaining forty-nine being from the portfolios of seven different collectors.
