Produktbeschreibung
Excerpt from Good Roads (League Roads Improvement Bureau) The extended favor and largely increased demand with which the recently published pamphlet, "The Gospel of Good Roads" has been received, will more than justify us in reproducing it in the first numbers of our magazine. Other articles of value are now in hand and will follow in due order. Special features. We intend to make this magazine of interest and value to every person who travels the common roads, to every driver of horses and to every user of wheeled vehicles. Special attention will be given to the subject of Road Laws and Legislation, including outlines of existing laws and suggestions for local and general acts looking to the better making and maintaining of public highways. Country Roads. Under this heading will be included much practical information of special value to the suburban resident, the farmer and other persons whose homes and places of business are so located, as to compel them to make frequent use of the dirt wagon roads which are found so commonly in all parts of the country. Town and Village Streets. These subjects will receive thorough and practical treatment, and extended information will be published from time to time, showing costs and methods of improvement, including plans and specifications of approved merit. During the coming Winter we shall devote considerable space in our columns to the description of various kinds of machinery and implements used in making and repairing roads, with impartial comment upon the relative values of machine and hand work in the various departments of road making and maintenance. Information will be given relative to the cost, value, durability and uses of road rollers, stone and rock crushers, scrappers, hones, etc., etc., and correspondence will be invited upon all these subjects.
