In the chapter on "The Holiday Ground of Belgium" the writer has endeavoured to describe faithfully a tour made by him in the summer of 1899 through the Liége district and the Ardennes. He does not profess to have discovered anything new or strange; but as he has carefully avoided describing any place which he has not recently visited, he believes that his narrative may possibly be of use to those who may wish to undertake a similar excursion.
