Four of these medals were awarded, in 1918, to subscribers of The People´s Home Journal for remarkable achievement in the Journal´s great national crusade for Bird Sanctuaries, conducted through the members of its Green Meadow Club, a home organization for the study of Natural History and the extension of Wild Life knowledge. The founders of the Permanent Wild Life Fund include many of the most prominent men and women of America. Their names are given on the following page.
