Legendary concert promoter Bill Graham once said of the Grateful Dead ´they´re not the best at what they do, they´re the only ones who do what they do´, and that just about sums up the group who went from ´frighteningly radical´ to ´as American as Aplle Pie´ in just a couple of generations. But it wasn´t the Dead who changed in order to bring about this circumstance, it was the rest of the world catching up - and despite the band proper now being absent from the scene for a number of years, the spirit remains. Phish, once the new pretenders to the Dead´s crown are now almost 30 years into a journey that began when their upline had yet to achieve the biggest ´hit´ of their career. And despite the odd hiatus, the mighty Phish continue to play unabashed to this day.
