This Lattice-Boltzmann method is a popular method formodeling fluid flow. This book, which is a revisedrevision of a master degree thesis, first covers thefoundations of the Lattice-Boltzmann method in theBoltzmann equation, considering its derivation,physical interpretation, and the collision operator,as well as how the Navier-Stokes equations for fluidflow are derived. Simulations with theLattice-Boltzmann method demonstrate how flowpatterns fit with analytical theory for simple flowpatterns such as Poiseuille and Couette flow. Morecomplex flows where there is an irregularity to thechannel are then investigated, with a focus on theeffect such irregularities have on the pressure andvelocity field. The appendix includes a working codefor Lattice-Boltzmann method written in MatLab.
